Moses Stanton (Henry Brown) is a shopkeeper who has moved on from his sordid past. Keeping him grounded is his daughter Claire (Tessa Thompson), who still harbors resentment for his previous ways. When a new charismatic figure named Malik (Omari Hardwick) comes to town claiming to be a community leader, Claire quickly falls for his charm much to the chagrin of her father. Moses soon learns of Malik's true intentions and must act quickly to save his daughter's life — even if it means having to return to his previous ways.
